About Me & My Qualifications

Who are you?

I’m Maria Kolotourou, a Greek registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience. I specialise in women’s health, hormonal health conditions (PCOS, perimenopause, fertility), and Mediterranean diet approaches. I work part-time in the NHS as an eating disorders specialist and deputy professional head of dietetics and run my private practice, YourGreekDietitian, serving primarily Greek women living abroad.

What are your qualifications?

  • British Dietetic Association (BDA) member
  • NHS eating disorders specialist & deputy professional head of dietetics
  • 20+ years clinical experience

Do you work online or in-person?

All sessions are conducted online via secure video platform. This allows me to work with clients throughout the UK and internationally. The platform is simple to use and works on any device (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Can sessions be in Greek?

Yes! All sessions can be conducted in Greek or English, whichever language you feel most comfortable in. Most of my clients are Greek women living abroad, and I understand the importance of being able to discuss food, culture, and health in your native language.

I’m not Greek – can I still work with you?

Absolutely! While I specialise in serving the Greek diaspora, I welcome anyone interested in Mediterranean nutrition approaches or women’s health support. Sessions can be in English, and the Mediterranean diet principles work beautifully regardless of cultural background.

What happens in a discovery call?

The discovery call is a no-obligation 15-minute conversation where we discuss your situation, goals, and any specific challenges. I’ll explain how I work, which programme might be suitable for you, and answer any questions you have. There’s no pressure – it’s simply to see if we’re a good fit to work together.

Do I have to commit to a programme after the discovery call?

No! The discovery call is completely free and there’s no obligation to book. I’ll be honest with you if I think another practitioner or approach would serve you better. The call is simply to help you make an informed decision.

Programmes & Pricing

Which programme is right for me?

I offer four specialised programmes:

  1. PCOS Nutrition Programme – For managing PCOS symptoms, insulin resistance, hormonal balance
  2. Perimenopause & Menopause Support Programme – For managing hormonal changes, weight gain and other symptoms
  3. Fertility & Pregnancy Nutrition Programme – For conception, pregnancy, and postpartum support
  4. Greek Lifestyle Nutrition Programme – For general wellness, sustainable weight loss, reconnecting with Mediterranean food heritage

During your discovery call, we’ll discuss which programme aligns with your needs and goals.

What are your programme options and prices?

All programmes offer three options:

12-Week Programme: £430 (6 sessions + ongoing support between sessions)

4-Week Cycles: £150 per cycle (2 sessions + ongoing support)

Maintenance Sessions: £70 per session | £195 for 3 sessions | £300 for 5 sessions

Can I switch between programmes?

Yes! Your needs may change over time. For example, you might start with the PCOS programme and later move to the Fertility programme when trying to conceive. We can discuss transitions during our sessions.

Do you provide meal plans?

I provide personalised meal frameworks rather than rigid meal plans. This means you learn the principles of how to build satisfying, nourishing meals that work for YOUR life, preferences, and schedule – not just following rules. This approach is more sustainable long-term and gives you independence. However, if you need more structure initially, we can provide that and gradually increase flexibility.

Sessions & Technical Details

How long are sessions?

  • First session: 45 minutes
  • Follow-up sessions: 30 minutes

What platform do you use for sessions?

I use a GDPR-compliant platform with integrated Zoom. You’ll receive a Zoom link with your booking – one click to join. The platform also includes secure messaging, food journals, progress tracking, and resources. Works on any device.

What if I miss a session?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. This allows me to offer the time slot to another client. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged. Life happens – I understand emergencies and will work with you where possible.

Can I contact you between sessions?

Yes! In the 12-week and 4-week programmes, you have access to secure messaging between sessions. I respond to messages within 1-2 business days. This is for quick questions, progress updates, and support – not for emergencies (if you have a medical emergency, contact your GP or NHS 111).

Policies & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept bank transfer (UK account) or payment via credit/debit card. For 12-week programmes, you can pay in full before your first session, or split into two instalments: 50% before your first session and 50% before your third session. This allows you to experience the programme and see initial progress before completing payment. For 4-week cycles and all maintenance sessions (individual sessions or packages), payment is required in full in advance.

Do you accept insurance?

I don’t work directly with insurance companies. However, some private health insurance policies cover dietitian services – check with your provider. I can provide detailed invoices and receipts for you to submit claims if your policy covers my services.

What’s your refund policy?

The discovery call is completely free and allows you to decide if we’re a good fit before committing. Once you’ve booked and had your first session, the programme fee is non-refundable. However, if something unexpected happens and you need to pause or discontinue, please speak with me – I’m always willing to work out reasonable solutions.

How long until I see results?

This varies significantly by individual and depends on your specific situation, goals, consistency, and many other factors. Most people report feeling better (more energy, less bloating, improved symptoms) within 2-4 weeks. Weight loss and hormonal improvements typically take 8-12 weeks to become noticeable. I focus on sustainable, long-term change rather than quick fixes. We’ll discuss realistic expectations for YOUR situation during your discovery call and first session.
